Labor's arrogance leads to GAIC defeat, Taxed Out Inc. media release, 24th February 2010
The Brumby Labor Government's refusal to listen to expert opinion and community concerns has resulted in the Planning and Environment Amendment (Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution) Bill 2009 yesterday being defeated in the Upper House of the Victorian Parliament.
"We are relieved that the GAIC bill has been defeated. We are also disappointed that the Victorian Labor Government and in particular Planning Minister Justin Madden chose to show no respect for the grave concerns of a large number of organisations including landowner groups, peak industry bodies and growth areas councils and attempted to push this deeply flawed policy through parliament," said Michael Hocking, Taxed Out Inc. chairman.
