The Labor Government were happy to sell poker machine licenses for1 billion less than what they could have got from Tatts Group and Tabcorp. Industry experts estimate the state government may have raked in up to $1 billion more if it had structured the auction of poker machine licenses differently. Gee that 1 billion might have built some infrastructure. Yet Brumby is hellbent on financially destroying landholders on Melbourne's outskirts. If Brumby wants to introduce this development tax in its current form , why discriminate and attack a minority just on Melbourne's fringe, he should introduce it statewide and then face the electorate this year with it in place and see how he goes. But Brumby wont do that he prefers to pick on the little guy.
