Im not sure about you guys but this nonesense is starting to piss me off.

I am sick to death of waiting for these jerks to stop acting like kids and get on with the job, the UGB is going to move now they play politics with all our lively hoods. I'd love to stick Madden and Guy in one room and belt them both until they stop bickering and start being productive.

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CALP CALP CALP!!!!

One minute its on next its off again.
First the GAIC headaches and now the UGB. What's next?

Listening to Justin Madden makes me sick he was a great footballer but a useless minister. Madden is fully to blame for the failing of the recent bill, why would you bundle Inner Melbourne Housing Density and Urban expansion as well as everthing else into one bill knowing that this complexity would make it fail..

Brumby & Madden what are you up to, it is evident you don't want this bill to go through. Just remember when you go down at the next election that you will be remembered for incompetance and the greatest Tax injustice ever, GAIC.

Yeah we are all sick of it, but from my reading of everything Matthew Guy offered to sit and negotiate with Madden on the GAIC for months and Madden refused to. Matthew Guy also offered to negotiate with Madden over VC67 but again Madden ignored him. I think perhaps you should just be alone with Madden in the room. For all of us, for all the heartache and stress we have been through we would hope your "negotiations" go well with him.
Julianne  - VC67 Planning Amendment.   |60.230.171.xxx |2010-07-09 03:04:51
"Tony" does not appear to understand that the Brumby Government has attempted to con Victorians by trying to bulldoze through an "omnibus" Planning Amendment - VC67. That is - its got everything rolled into it. (Just listen to Jon Faine's interview with Justin Madden and Matthew Guy.) Not only is extension of the urban growth boundary (UGB)included in it but provisions for high rise residential development along tram and bus routes in Melbourne and new transport routes.

All of this is aimed at cramming in 1.5 million more people by 2030. (And guesss who will profit? The developers.) The issues covered by the Planning Amendment VC 67 should be brought up to Parliament separately - Planning Minister Madden has had years to do it Government. The Opposition - Matthew Guy Shadow Minister for Planning is the spokesperson - has baulked at the Government trying to fast track all these major legislative changes through in one package. So who's to blame for this complete planning schermozzle? The Government.

Our new PM has has a rethink on the Big Australia but Brumby is still stuck on promoting a Big Victoria - more population more growth more residential development more freeways.

Landowners may think that they will get a good deal if the UGB is extended but given the Government's track record can it be trusted?

Sorry Julianne I disagree, and trust me I am very well versed in planning matters as it consumes my daily life, so your attempt to belittle my understanding of the planning system simply shows your ignorance.

Changing one thing in planning requires satisfaction of various parties, the Greens, the NIMBY's, the Opposition and the list goes on. There is way too much beurcratic crap to get the simplest things done, which is why the planning system is shot to hell. If you honestly believe that this current debate between Guy and Madden has anything to do with what’s best for Victoria’s planning then I feel sorry for you, it’s simply political and a slug fest between the to see who has got the biggest appendage!

Julianne, I see you are actively against urban expansion, so tell me how many properties do you own that will benefit from higher density? How much rent are you planning to bring in???? Its all so easy to blame the evil developers, but the fact is we are a small population and it is inevitable that we will grow, unless you are one of those completely racist types that wants to shut Australia’s door and or enforce a one child policy……… take it off topic slightly and answer this, we hold a vast majority of the southern hemispheres natural minerals, we have much more broader issues of security come long term if we don’t have enough people in this nation to defend it, that’s reality!

You advocate protecting Green Wedges but let me tell you that I can ensure you that %90 of Green Wedges are not green at all but simply Brown, yes yes I have had all the environmental tests done to my property, and guess what nothing is there!

You see “Julianne” I have as much contempt for you as I do the Government, the Opposition, the Greens and all other lobbyist parties that ultimately play with my livelihood and the livelihood of all members of the forum, you are simply pushing your own agenda and you do not care you gets hurt on the way.

So I DO NOT TRUST YOU any more then I trust the Government.

Sincerely

“Tony”

Tony,

Delay in posting comment was due to me being away for a few days. Unfortunately we don't have full-time office staff - just hard-working volunteers!

The current GAIC remains a immoral disgrace. Especially for farmers and folks out on the extremes of the new UGB. But don't so quickly forget that the Greens, Peter Kavanagh, and Matthew Guy have stopped Brumby and Madden from legalizing the stealing of many more of our properties.
If the E6, as a 6 lane Freeway Through the heart of the City of Whittlesea had any community support or worthwhile purpose it would stand alone on it's own merits. And be passed.
If lining Suburban transport routes with multi storey flats had any community support and the people of Melbourne couldn't wait to duplicate Sydney's example of a liveable city then that would stand on its own merits and be passed.
They are being bundled together to use the UGB movement to bulldoze Victorians into accepting dreadful planning changes that are designed to reward a small group of developers that the Labor Government accepts election donations from. Its the same small set of "Special developer mates" that you and I have been shafted by since the GAIC was first conceived.
Stand together and continue to fight for the complete removal of the GAIC on landowners and the ridiculous duplication of the Hume and Craigieburn bypass with an unwanted E6 Freeway.

Tony how can you be sceptical of Taxed Out after what they achieved for landowners? The committtee all worked so hard for us for months and I for one will always be grateful. This is a really good forum for people to air their views and let's be thankful that we live in a country where everyone is free to voice their own opinions.

Dear Landowners

I beg you not to turn into the greedy people that Madden accused you of being.

Don't prove Madden right now you not have to pay a huge tax bill
